The first of the Kevin Hart and The Rock movies, 2016's Central Intelligence, follows two former high school classmates reuniting. One is a CIA agent (Johnson), and the other is an accountant (Hart) who gets roped into helping the agent. In this film, Johnson plays his typical tough guy role, while Hart surprisingly excels as the straight man.
Although it's technically the lowest-rated of the Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart movies, Central Intelligence still got good reviews. It has a 71% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and was the first to show how well the duo works together. Hart's character being forced into dangerous situations by The Rock became a winning recipe.
4 Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019)
Hart's Brief Appearance Steals the Show
Director
David Leitch
Release Date
August 2, 2019
Cast
Jason Statham, Teresa Mahoney, Idris Elba, Eddie Marsan, Dwayne Johnson, Eiza Gonzalez, Vanessa Kirby, Joe Anoa'i
Runtime
133 minutes
After helping breathe new life into the Fast & Furious franchise, Johnson got a spin-off with Jason Statham. Hobbs & Shaw builds on the macho tension between Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw (Statham), first seen in Fate Of The Furious. The film was a box office hit, making over $700 million (according to Box Office Mojo), though it didn't quite reach the heights of other entries in the series.
Hart has a small role in Hobbs & Shaw as an air marshal. He helps out the main characters, and while his part isn't crucial to the plot, it's one of the funniest moments in any of The Rock and Kevin Hart movies. However, with limited interaction between the two in the 2019 film, it can't rank higher on the list.
3 Jumanji: The Next Level (2019)
Johnson & Hart Channel Danny DeVito & Donald Glover
Director
Jake Kasdan
Release Date
December 13, 2019
Cast
Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Jack Black, Danny DeVito, Danny Glover, Awkwafina, Sal Longobardo, Rhys Darby, Darin Ferraro, Dania Ramirez
Runtime
123 Minutes
Following the huge success of the Jumanji reboot, a sequel, Jumanji: The Next Level, was inevitable. The 2019 movie brings back Johnson as video game avatar Xander Bravestone and Hart as Franklin "Mouse" Finbar, with Danny Glover and Danny DeVito joining the cast. Jumanji: The Next Level is an entertaining adventure that sticks to the 2017 film's body-swap formula.
The follow-up to the Jumanji reboot film offers some delightful interactions between Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, and undoubtedly some of the most family-friendly content, though it doesn't quite match up to their initial collaboration in the Jumanji series.
While this familiarity also diminishes some of the novelty the first movie possessed, watching Johnson and Hart play off each other while mimicking DeVito and Glover is a highlight. The sequel to the Jumanji reboot film presents some enjoyable moments between Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, and certainly some of the most family-friendly material, although it doesn't quite reach the level of their first venture together in the Jumanji franchise.

Release Date
July 29, 2022
Cast
Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Natasha Lyonne, Diego Luna, John Krasinski, Kate McKinnon, Keanu Reeves
Runtime

Dwayne Johnson's involvement in DC Comics movies has been somewhat contentious. While Black Adam received mixed reviews, the Kevin Hart and The Rock movie DC League of Super-Pets made up for it. The film centers on DC's super-powered animals, including Johnson's Krypto, Superman's pet, and Hart's Ace, Batman's companion.
They must save the day when Lex Luthor kidnaps the Justice League. The star-studded cast includes Keanu Reeves as Batman and John Krasinski as Superman. Although the movie lacks Johnson and Hart's physical comedy, it's a testament to their synergy that the film still radiates charisma and chemistry through their voice performances alone. The banter between Krypto and Ace is genuinely funny, both for its DC Comics in-jokes and broader comedic appeal.
1 Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle (2017)
A Deserving Successor To The 1995 Original
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle
Director
Jake Kasdan
Release Date
December 5, 2017
Cast
Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, Bobby Cannavale, Alex Wolff, Ser'darius Blain, Madison Iseman, Morgan Turner
Runtime
119 Minutes
Among all Kevin Hart and The Rock collaborations, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle stands out as the most successful, launching a franchise for the duo. Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle is the long-awaited sequel to the 1995 adventure film starring Robin Williams, and against expectations, it emerged as one of 2017's most entertaining blockbusters. The movie replaces the Jumanji board game with a video game, cleverly playing with gaming mechanics and the intentionally one-dimensional avatars of the teens trapped in the game.
Karen Gillan and Jack Black complete Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle's cast, and while the film — like most Kevin Hart and The Rock movies — relies more on cast chemistry than plot, it has a genuine warmth. The 2017 release also grossed over $995 million, making it the duo's biggest commercial hit together (according to Box Office Mojo).
This represents the first instance in the reboot series where elements from the game have crossed into reality, signaling a more direct connection to the original Robin Williams film. It also opens up the possibility for Jumanji 4 to feature interactions between the video game avatars (portrayed by Jack Black, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, Johnson, and Hart) and the teenage players controlling them. Regarding the release of Jumanji 4, it's likely to be delayed as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Kevin Hart are currently involved in various individual projects.
The Rock And Kevin Hart's Social Media Presence Is Entertaining
While Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson's on-screen chemistry is undeniably hilarious, their real-life friendship is equally heartwarming. The duo has shared numerous viral moments, such as Kevin Hart's Halloween costume mimicking 90s Dwayne Johnson. Their comedic synergy goes beyond their obvious size difference; it stems from their genuine friendship and ability to bring their natural rapport to the screen.
Beyond leaving witty comments on each other's social media posts, the pair has also participated in popular TikTok challenges, showcasing their friendship. For instance, during the 2022 "pass the phone" challenge, Hart chose Johnson with the quip, "I'm passing the phone to someone with no hair but all forehead." Johnson retorted with, "I'm passing the phone to someone who lost his virginity at 22."
The "pass the phone" TikTok challenge involves recording oneself saying "I'm passing the phone to someone who..." followed by a humorous description of the next person.
This playful banter-filled friendship is what makes Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart's movies so entertaining, creating a level of chemistry that few contemporary comedic duos can match.
